Dubrovnik is an old city that was used by the Romans and the Greeks as a port and trading town linking Europe and Asia. A sheltered harbour, the Dubrovnik Old Town is protected by its city fortress wall. The wall has been repaired recently due to damaged obtained in the Bosnian war.
Dubrovnik’s surroundings consist of hard dark razor cliffs that dive down deep into the pristine crystal clear blue water. The water around Dubrovnik is the most inviting water we have ever experienced. Perfect.
As an intended filler for us, between Italy and our pre booked sailing adventure departing from Split, Croatia, we didn’t expect much from Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik ended up being one of our favourite places visited in Croatia.
