Cape Peninsular

After a week in the ‘mother’ city we decided it was time to get on the road. The mission to find a rental vehicle available in Cape Town seemed hopeless until we came across our little 1.1L buzz box with wheels the size of a vesper. Africa here we come!

The first challenge for our new travel companion was the spectacular and steep Chapman’s Peak Drive. The test was completed, our small travel companion was ready for the challenge that lay ahead.

Our plan was to get away from the crowds and craziness of the city but little did we know that every other tourists had also decided to visit the stunning park that day. Arriving at the ‘Cape of Good Hope’ we fought the crowds and missed out on the prized photo at “the most southwest point in Africa”, but delighted in watching hundreds of tourists line up for the chance.

A hop skip and a jump away from the cape we found ourselves in Simon’s Town where we explored the naval antiques stores and lazed around with the African Penguin at Boulders beach.
